Attorney Chad Stavley negotiated a $505,000 settlement for a Portland couple who were on a motorcycle when they were hit by a teenage driver who ran a stop sign. The motorcyclist suffered a fractured wrist and torn scapholunate ligament, which required surgical repair. In addition, the motorcyclist's wife suffered soft-tissue injuries. The at-fault driver's insurance company denied liability. Initially, the couple hired another local law firm to represent them. When that firm was unable to resolve the case, the couple contacted Chad Stavley.
Chad filed a lawsuit against the at-fault teenager and her father because the vehicle was being used for a family purpose. Chad then began working with the doctors to present the most compelling testimony possible. As the trial date grew nearer, the defense reached out, wanting to discuss resolving the case. The case settled for $505,000 before trial.
